This is an accredited Royal College of Surgeons and STAC approved training course for everyone involved in the provision of care of the patient undergoing Inhalation Sedation (IHS).
It follows the core syllabus of the IACSD Standards.
During this day we will discuss the theory of IHS, the physiology and pharmacology, the treatment journey for the patients, legal and ethical considerations and have a practical demonstration involving sedation for any healthy ASA 1 and 2 volunteers on the course. Everyone gets to try administering IHS.
This course provides all the theory and practical core training. After the course the leaner will have to undertake a minimum of 10 cases mentored, keep a detailed log of those cases and be signed off by a STAC approved mentor before undertaking independent practice.
Remember you always need two fully qualified sedation professionals in the room if you are undertaking the dentistry or assisting.
