In conjunction with ResusPlus Training and Mellow Dental

As per IACSD Standards 2020, everyone involved in treating the adult sedated patient requires ILS training “or equivalent” every twelve months.

This is our UKSedation / Traintosedate face to face equivalent ILS course which takes 3 hours rather than a whole day out of clinic.

Many dental teams already do yearly BLS training but don’t cover airway management or complications of sedation.

Many dental sedation trained teams have done a Resus Council Approved ILS course and just require annual half day refreshers.

So our 3 hour course is designed to fill in the gaps and is suitable for dental staff who

  • Have annual BLS and need to upgrade to ILS equivalent
  • Have already done an full day adult ILS course or refresher in the last 12 months

Our curriculum includes:

  • Adult Airway Management
  • Head Tilt Chin Lift and Jaw Thrust
  • Oropharyngeal Airway
  • Nasopharyngeal Airway
  • Igel insertion with particular relation to cardiac arrest
  • ABCDE assessment of the conscious patient with anaphylaxis
  • ABCDE assessment of the over sedated patient with Anaphylaxis, Vomiting, Choking

Our course does not cover Paediatric Life Support but an optional PILS update may be available.
